drought

The sky is dry

Not a tear in her eye

No wet for the wicked

In this barren land

We have only to dream

Of what grey green

Could mean

The silence is deafening

Only hearts beat

Each second hoping

A single drop to greet

This heart is broken

But she will not weep

She forces the secrets inside

To keep

Some semblance of calm

In the impending storm

In which the earth

Becomes increasingly warm

    • Always happy to assist with another’s work.;P When I was a kid, we used to have mandatory conservation…dunno what happened to that. Many of us conserve water, but we all *should* have been doing this for years. Conservation should indeed be part of a sustainable lifestyle, but there is waste on a much larger scale than just personal use. (One planet=one chance).
