dusking

Once my dreams

Were as sold

As the ship in the night

Invisible but large and charging

For the light

Then at dawn

Ships sailed away

Nothing but the glassy

Shore of day

And the port

Absent of craft

Naught fore

Naught aft

I caught your stare

Across a yellow sky

We laughed when all the

Clowns went by

Their dreams seemed silly

Not as sturdy as ours

But once more it is dusking

And we pick up our oars

What sky what light

What a day

What a fight

There we were catching the last wave

There she bore us

As a sailor to the grave

Where that light we sought once more

The dreams at night

Our innocence brought

While seeking the light

We crashed on the rocks.
