just the fax, ma’am

Oh, ancient device of facsimile!

How thou dost torment me

What meaning am I to derive

For “waiting for pages”

Which have already arrived!

Didst thou deliver or didst thou not?

Page One was sent

But I knowest not

Where the other pages

May be waiting

In office purgatory

Anticipating

An arrival to a distant locale

Where their code may be transcribed

And understood by seeing…

Ah… what’s this…

Another device is singing,

“Hello, hello…receivest thou mine missive?”

No, indeed, Page One arrived alone,

The rest await in parts unknown.
