Lately…

Lately, all I’ve had is time…

and I’ve forgotten how to rhyme…

I’ve taken a turn down Writer’s Block…

and Now my name is losing stock…

Inspiration is fleeting and intense…

but None of it is bringing in an cents…

Tomorrow will dawn a new day…

and Another chance to wrap my ideas in a bouquet…

  1. some of the best, and most truthful things ever written didn’t rhyme. Rhyming is overrated anyway:-) I am envious that you are finding the time to write, anyway. Have so much to say, but will wait for a time until my seams are bursting and it all comes tumbling out all over our laundry and dirty house and I realize that I am the only one holding myself back and just write anyway. Tried to write some things down in the girls journal this weekend while we were on the boat, but something always came up and I’d only get maybe half a sentence or less than half an idea down, at any rate. Write a story, not a poem, per se…your best poems in my mind are the dreams you write down…a few lines rhyme but most of them don’t. Josie AND the cat are climbing on me right now…one wanting my attention, the other wanting my computer to do some ‘phonics’ Been reading a really great book LATE at night when everyone else has gone to bed called ‘Life Lessons” by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross and David Keppler (was that right?) all about the lessons we can all learn in life, much earlier than our final days, to really enjoy our lives and have lived a life well created. Check it out. Believe it was written in about 2000. Anyone know if Elisabeth Kubler-Ross is still alive? She wrote the forward to the anthology I love so much…”Women who run with the wolves” by Clarissa Pinkola-Estes…gotta go wipe a but…-white monkey

    • Thanks for your comment, White Monkey! I just looked up Elizabeth Kubler-Ross and sadly she died on August 24, 2004…

I envy those that write stories – even short ones. The only time I ever did it was in school – I enjoyed it immensely, but I am unable to write one now… perhaps if I pull out my old books from school I will find the structure again.
